The team is led by Partner and vastly experienced solicitor Ikram Malik — a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners' Association who advises businesses on how to become approved sponsor licence holders and employ non-settled skilled workers. He works closely alongside Partner and experienced employment lawyer Brendan McAleese.
We support employers with their responsibilities such as the prevention of illegal working and Home Office inspections, sponsor duties and dealing with licence revocations and appeals. For our corporate clients, we also advise on the immigration law implications of mergers and acquisitions.
We work with a range of employers and businesses from SMEs to national and multinational organisations across all sectors — including healthcare, bioscience, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, recruitment, life sciences, tech and sports law.

Employers looking to recruit non-UK talent
We understand the current pressures facing UK employers.
Navigating the fast-changing UK immigration laws is increasingly complex. Without proper legal support, employers are unintentionally making mistakes that could significantly impact their business.
Working closely with our recruitment and workforce solutions team, we can help to boost your recruitment efforts and access a wider talent pool of specialist, non-UK national candidates where possible.
Our immigration services for employers include:
- Obtaining a sponsor licence.
- Recruiting non-UK skilled workers.
- Sponsor duties and compliance.
- Sponsorship management roles — we act as named representatives for your sponsor licence and take up key personnel roles.
- Training — we deliver bespoke training for your people teams, managers and in-house legal teams on right-to-work checks and how immigration law impacts your business.
