Heena is a Solicitor in our employment, immigration and pensions team.
She handles a wide range of employment law matters including employment tribunal claims, disciplinary/grievance issues, settlement agreements and exit negotiations and the drafting of bespoke employment documentation such as contracts and staff handbooks.
Heena acts for a range of clients including individuals, SMEs, owner-managed businesses, national and multinational organisations across a range of sectors including recruitment and retail.
She also advises on recruitment matters such as employment status and IR35.
Heena advises on issues where immigration law and employment law overlap. This includes dismissing sponsored employees and dealing with employees who are found not to have the right to work.
She also enjoys writing about legal issues and has contributed to specialist publications such as People Management on a range of topics including national minimum wage issues in the retail sector.
Heena joined us in 2019 and is based in our Manchester office.
“From the initial meeting onwards, I found Heena to be knowledgeable and her suggested strategy (which covered areas I had not considered) was exactly what was required to respond effectively to the allegations raised. Heena was sympathetic and always on the end of the phone to reassure me throughout the process. The whole experience, although somewhat traumatic, was tempered by Heena’s knowledge, experience and professionalism under fire.”
