Nick is a Partner and leads our employment and pensions team.
A hugely experienced employment lawyer with over 30 years’ experience, Nick advises businesses on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law.

Nick works closely with boards, senior management teams and HR professionals to devise and implement strategies required for people change management. He offers employers his expertise on varying terms and conditions of employment, business sales and reorganisations, TUPE transfers, service provision changes, collective consultations and responding to requests for trade union recognition and threats of industrial action.
With extensive experience in advising private sector clients, Nick is recognised for his retail, manufacturing and professional services knowledge.

With a national reputation for dealing with complex employment-related disputes, Nick has notable experience in employment tribunal claims (discrimination and whistleblowing claims in particular), senior exits, complex grievance and disciplinary procedures, internal investigations, business protection and the enforcement of restrictive covenants.
In addition to acting for leading employers, he is a key part of our Brabners Personal team. Skilled in handling senior executive exits, Nick “[leads] a team specialising in niche and complex settlement cases”. Nick is valued for his “strong and clear” approach to negotiating complex exit arrangements and settlement agreements, including settlement of notice pay, ex gratia compensation payments, complex equity rights, long- and short-term investment plans, commission schemes and bonus arrangements.
A member of the Employment Lawyers Association, Liverpool Law Society and National Law Society, Nick has been recognised by The Legal 500, Chambers UK, Best Lawyers, Liverpool Law Society and The Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards for his work in employment law.
