Construction projects require careful advice and support at every stage of the process, from inception to completion, as otherwise there can be costly consequences.
We provide the commercially-focused advice needed to handle key construction issues to enable projects to be well structured from the outset and which, once up and running, run as smoothly as possible. If there are bumps in the road, then we can advise on how those bumps can be removed in the most commercially advantageous, time efficient way.
Our team is made up of experienced construction lawyers, including Partners who have decades’ of experience in construction law. It is headed by dual-qualified Quantity Surveyor and Solicitor Barry Goodall who has a strong track record in this area.
Our expertise
We provide support on all aspects of non-contentious construction services, ranging from advice on procurement through to the drafting of main contract and sub-contract terms, consultants’ appointments, development agreements, warranties, guarantees, novations and bonds.
We also provide strong commercial advice if difficulties arise during the course of your project under all forms of contract, with our team guiding clients through the issues and, if needed, through adjudication, arbitration, litigation or mediation. We have a deep understanding of the issues faced on construction and engineering projects ranging from delay and extension of time claims and loss and expense through to issues of termination and professional negligence.
We act for a broad range of national and international contractors, sub-contractors as well as household name retailers, large commercial developers, registered providers of social housing and land owners.
We have been involved in diverse projects such as student accommodation, distribution centres, regeneration projects, and large infrastructure projects such as Hinkley Point C and the Mersey Gateway Bridge.
Our team also speaks at conferences and carries out in-house training to pass on its knowledge and experience.
