Our multidisciplinary sports lawyers have worked alongside national governing bodies (NGBs) and international federations (IFs) for over 30 years.
We use this experience to support, guide and advise on the full breadth of day-to-day legal challenges and strategic opportunities including major event planning, Olympic and Paralympic cycles and associated funding schedules.
Gold standards of governance, improved gender diversity, greater transparency on strategy and financial status are among the necessary requirements for NGBs and IFs today. They also face growing pressure to respond to societal changes by addressing issues around integrity, equality, diversity and inclusion, athlete welfare and safeguarding.
We’re trusted advisors to NGBs and IFs across a wide range of sporting disciplines, including The English Football League (EFL), The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), The PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association), The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFL), Aquatics GB, Basketball England, British Basketball, British Judo, British Ice Skating, Commonwealth Sport, England Netball, Paddle UK, Skateboard GB and Sport Accord.
Bringing together experts from a range of legal disciplines, we’re able to anticipate, meet and exceed client needs around charity and trust law, employment and pensions, dispute resolution, commercial contracts, property, construction and planning law and much more. We regularly provide training to in-house teams, affiliated clubs, committee members and welfare officers.
